C.O.P.P. Story...
After being under that bridge for a while, I started meeting others that were living on the streets under the bridge’s and the old abandoned buildings in the same area I was staying in, and talking to them, and finding out that they weren’t that different than I. For one reason or another they fell through the cracks, and ended up homeless and poor just as I had. It was an eye opening experience for me to find out that most of them didn’t want to be in the condition they were in, sure there were the exceptions.
The ones that were there because they wanted to be, but I assure you that wasn't the norm.
But the thing that really started bugging me was a couple of them that came to my camp there under the bridge, and told me they couldn't get a winter coat to stay warm. Not only that but then I found out that if they didn’t have a dollar to stay at the shelters at night then they would have to stay out in the cold. Something about that didn't seem right because I knew that all the shelters and clothing rooms in Kansas City were taking in donations of materials and funds to help the poor and homeless of the community.
But for some reason it wasn't making it to those that were truly in need for some reason.
I wondered why it was like that and that’s before I found out that Homelessness was Big Business.
I’ll explain that statement later.
